What is it?
It is an assessment that combines DIBELS skills with text reading comprehension. It helps to identify a student’s instructional reading level so that lessons are differentiated to meet their needs. DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills)
What is it?
It is the assessment of critical skills necessary for early reading success. These assessments include Phoneme Segmentation (PSF) which measures phonemic awareness: fluency in separating a spoken word into its parts; Nonsense Word Fluency (NWF) which assesses knowledge of basic letter-sound correspondence and the ability to blend letter sounds into C-V-C and C-V words; Dibels Oral Reading Fluency (DORF) which measures advanced word attack skills, accurate and fluent reading of connected text, and reading comprehension. These assessments are administered three times a year, BOY, MOY, and EOY.
